SIATEL is a French ECM company that was originally created in 1983. Its activity was first oriented towards automatic operations and electronic hardware design for telecommunications industry. It naturally developed into IT products and computer environment production, with in 1991 the development of a graphic processor which was later integrated into a controller.
The electronic processors it developed were dedicated to displaying 1:1 scale images and office documents on vertical format screens. The quality of this component led SIATEL to win the Bundespost equipment market with 3500 dematerialized cheques processing systems supplied, in partnership with Digital Equipment (DEC).
At the same time, since 1987, after winning a studies and development market for La Poste (French postal service) SIATEL started a new activity: software subsets design. This came to complete the range of former activities totally based on hardware.
In 1992 SIATEL became a stock company and mainly dedicated to software design. SIATEL SA, since then has been a specialist company in document processing with a range of solutions for BPM- Workflow, Electronic Document Management (EDM) and Electronic Contents Management (ECM).
